Skydive Auckland - Making an NZ Record!

We set an NZ Record! We achieved the NZ Ladies Sequential record and it was such an amazing experience, filled with laughs and learning. It was a 2-point 9way. Thanks to everyone involved and well done ladies! Also, shout out to Brendan Swain for flying camera and capturing these moments to secure our record.

And thanks to The Crowd Goes Wild who visited Skydive Auckland to find out what's involved in the ladies sequential record, featuring some of the fabulous women that took part and successfully made the NZ record. We took reporter Wairangi Koopu for a tandem skydive to show him what it's all about. Clips of the successful NZ record jump then featured again on the show, on Prime.

Leap For Life 2021 at Skydive Auckland

We can't wait to welcome back Mercy Hospice at the upcoming Leap For Life 2021!

1. Click 'Start Fundraising' to sign up NOW and book your place on the plane
2. Raise a minimum of $800 and you will get your 13,000ft jump FOR FREE!

It's amazing how much your friends, family and colleagues will donate to see you jump out of a plane!

So Mercy Hospice have the purpose and Skydive Auckland have the plane. Now we just need some star fundraisers who can raise at least $800 and take the leap!

Mercy Hospice will be there on the day and are also providing food and refreshments for after your jump! You can bring as many supporters on the day as you like and they can watch you getting into the plane and taking off, and will be right in front of the landing area, waiting to see your face as you land.

All fundraisers will need to raise a minimum of $800 for Mercy Hospice to qualify for their free 13,000ft skydive. After $800 has been raised fundraisers can then choose to purchase upgrades to their jump heights or camera packages on the actual day.

Skydive Auckland will provide the overall highest fundraiser with a free video and photo package valued at $189!

Last year Leap For Life by Mercy Hospice raised an incredible $16,000 in 2020. So let's beat that this year and raise even more! Hit Start Fundraising NOW and lets have some fun!!

Pink Ribbon Breakfast is Breast Cancer Foundation NZ’s biggest fundraising campaign, where each year, thousands of amazing Kiwis all across NZ get together to do good in their communities. The money raised helps fund breast cancer education; innovative projects by some of our country’s top researchers; and supports patients and their families as they navigate through their breast cancer journeys.

So come and join us at 08:30am at our base in Parakai, West Auckland, for your coffee fix, and some tasty, freshly baked (pink!) treats. We'll have sweet and savoury options available.

Skydive For Charity - Jump For Cancer

On 1st May 2021 we welcomed back Cancer Society Auckland & Northland for a Jump For Cancer 2021 event. 32 brave fundraisers who reached their fundraising target have all taken the leap from 13,000ft on behalf of the Cancer Society Auckland & Cancer Society Northland. Participants chose to go even higher and skydive from 20,000ft, which is the highest tandem skydive in New Zealand with 85 seconds of freefall.

The Cancer Society provides a vital service to people living with cancer and relies on the generosity of fundraisers and donators to keep those services available. The event so far has raised a massive $51,721 which will help to create a future with less cancer. The top fundraiser of the event raised $4,390! We even had a team of fundraisers who drove down all the way from Cape Reinga to take the leap!

The crowd of supporters and the atmosphere on this day was unforgettable and our entire team had a blast. Well done everyone!

Want to Skydive For Charity? Join an upcoming charity event day or fundraise for an ongoing charity campaign to skydive on your chosen date. Simply sign up via the charity page, fundraise the target amount, then skydive for free.

Annual Skydiving Event In Honour of Parakai Local Ross King

For the second year in a row, in honour of Parakai local and legend 'Mad Dog' Ross King we're hosting a special sport skydiving event at Skydive Auckland, The Mad King Boogie II. During this 7 day event, we will be doing sunrise and sunset jumps into Orewa and Muriwai Beaches, novelty jumps, competitions, organised jumps, swooping and more.

We are also going to do a Women's Sequential Record which will be a national first! This record is based on the number of participants and also the number of formations they complete in the sky.

Our swoop pond will be an exciting part of the event. Skydive Auckland has the largest swoop pond in the Southern Hemisphere where experienced skydivers can land at high speed. It's 100 metres long and the skydivers will swoop as fast as they can with speeds of around 120 km/hr per hour. They are scored on factors such as; accuracy, distance with contact with the water and the best trick that they can do.

Ross again, will present the 'Mad Dog Award' at the end of the event.

Tandem skydives will be happening as always so if anyone who is not a Sport Skydiver would like to get in on the action, Book Now

Skydive Auckland - The Best Skydive in New Zealand!

Skydive Auckland has maintained #1 position on TripAdvisor for Auckland and also recently featured in TripAdvisor's Top 10 Travellers Choice Experiences for the whole of New Zealand! We're so proud. Thanks Helensville News for shouting about our achievements too, with the following feature.

Skydive Business in Top 10 NZ Experiences:

"Parakai business Skydive Auckland is the number one rated tour in Auckland on TripAdvisor - and was recently named in its ‘Top 10 Travellers Choice Experiences’ for the whole of New Zealand. That listing put them on the same footing as Hobbiton, Milford Sound, Kaikoura Whale Watching, and the Shotover Jet Boats.

Based at the West Auckland Airport in Green Road the company offer the highest tandem skydive in the Southern Hemisphere with customer's leaping from 17-seater plane at 20,000 feet with an 85-second freefall, to see stunning views of the Kaipara Harbour and the surrounding countryside, as far as Mt Taranaki on a clear day.

“We are seeing a spike in people wanting to skydive from 20,000 feet since Covid-19,” says sales and marketing manager Jo Austin. “We’ve also seen an increase in the number of people bringing family, and recently took a 93-year-old man jumping with his son. Another day we had two girls jumping for their 7th birthday. And a lot of people who post-lockdown want to do something that helps them redefine freedom and escape reality.” The Parakai is blessed with a perfect airfield location for jumping, and Jo says the climate allows for very good jump rates.

It’s also the largest sport diving drop zone in New Zealand. It’s not all just skydiving for pleasure, though. Running alongside Skydive Auckland is the New Zealand Skydiving School, the only place in the world where prospective skydive instructors, coaches and camera flyers can get a Diploma in Commercial Skydiving. Students undertake a 32-week course learning theory in the on-site classroom and completing 200 jumps during the course of the NZQA-approved Diploma. Spaces are still available for courses later in the year.

As well as individual and corporate jumps, Skydive Auckland holds a lot of charity skydives. Skydive Auckland won the Supreme Business Excellence award at the 2020 Westpac Auckland Business Awards for the north and west regions, as well as taking out the Excellence in Marketing trophy. That followed a win for Excellence in Community Contribution at the 2018 awards."

Skydive Auckland are hosting a National Competition this month which will bring visitors to Auckland to compete and spectate. Set to be a close and exciting event between competitors the parachutes in the sky make it fascinating for spectators.

Currently we have interest to run nationals in the following disciplines:
  • 4 Way RW
  • 2 Way RW
  • Wingsuit
  • Canopy Piloting
  • Freestyle

Skydive Auckland - Helping Our Community

Skydive Auckland has been getting involved with Eat My Lunch and volunteering to help feed kiwi kids. Our awesome team have been delivering lunches to different schools around Auckland.

Eat My Lunch works on the basis of Buy One Give One. Every lunch that a kiwi purchases means they can give a lunch to a Kiwi kid who would otherwise go without. It’s a little gesture that’s had a great impact for so many Kiwi kids. With a good lunch in their tummies, the kids do better in so many ways from helping them focus on learning to simply just putting a smile on their faces. Find out more about Eat My Lunch here: https://eatmylunch.nz/

SPCA Jump To The Rescue At Skydive Auckland

Will you take the plunge and skydive for animals in need? SPCA Jump To The Rescue are back and we cannot wait to see them on 1st August 2020!

Last year, SPCA alone raised $104,000 through their Jump To The Rescue event, which began at Skydive Auckland, and last year expanded to became a national campaign with a choice of five skydiving locations across the country. SPCA receives almost no government funding so relies on fundraising and donations from the community. The Skydive For Charity platform provides an incentive to fundraise, with the end result being vital funds raised for SPCA that helps animals that are sick, injured, abused or simply abandoned. Not only do friends and family spectate at this event, but dogs and rabbits have been known to come along to support too from the ground.

Lucie Fowler, SPCA’s Events and Community Fundraising manager says it is exciting Jump to the Rescue is able to go ahead this year. “We encourage any of you feeling like you truly need to ‘break out’ and shake off the shackles of lockdown, please join us.” You can sign up to join them at www.spca.nz/jump." "Our fundraising efforts have been disrupted due to COVID-19, but here’s an opportunity for adventurous New Zealanders to do something truly memorable, while helping our abused, unwanted and unloved animals at the same time.”

To Jump To the Rescue, all you need to do is raise $775 through your sponsorship page and then come and jump for FREE!
